Made fresh and from scratch...

Aloha! My name is Samantha Choy and I'm the pastry chef behind the Baked By Sami C. logo. Sorry to dissapoint but I am not related in any way to Sam Choy, the chef.

I  am best known for my work at Grand Cafe and Bakery where I made all of the morning baked goods, desserts, and breads from scratch. I worked at Alan Wong's during high school and Alan Wong's Marketplace making chocolates. I also worked at The Plaza Club as pastry chef and the Kahala Mandarin as a pastry cook. I made the desserts at Nico's Pier 38 for a short time. I was also the pastry chef at both Sam Choy's Diamond Head Restaurant and 12th Avenue Grill from 2006-07. I am now working at the Halekulani as an Assistant Pastry Cook and working towards opening my own bakery in a couple of years.

Born and raised in Kaimuki, I  wanted to be a pastry chef since I was 11 years old. I attended the Culinary Institute of America for two years and graduated with an Associates Degree in Baking and Pastry Arts. I love to make any and all baked goods, breads, and desserts! I love my job and especially love it when people enjoy my work.
